Bay Meadow Cottages

Bay Meadow Cottages offer cute Maine cottages on Mount Desert Island. Our bright white cottages are gathered on a grassy meadow looking out at a tranquil bay in Salisbury Cove off Bar Harbor's popular Frenchman's Bay.

Our 14 classic housekeeping cottages are tidy and comfortable with kitchenettes and private baths, ideal for a couple of nights or an entire week in the Bar Harbor region. Our setting is quiet and well-kept, with a private oceanfront area on Salisbury Cove reserved exclusively for our guests. Chairs and picnic tables grace our lawn, a pleasant setting to enjoy your morning coffee or reflect on your day's adventure in Acadia National Park.

Families love our cottages, especially the 2 bedroom cottages that offer plenty of space for everyone and a beautiful view of the cove out the picture window. Couples enjoy our one bedroom cottages with a private bath, cable TV, kitchenette, mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave and countertop stove.

We provide free Wi-Fi on the property so you can stay in touch while you enjoy your getaway to Bar Harbor.

Our cottages are an easy 5 minutes to Acadia National Park gates and just 10 minutes from Bar Harbor's downtown restaurants, shops, kayak tours and whale watching excursions. Many guests like to bring their own kayak or canoe to launch right in our bay, and bikes to tour Cadillac Mountain Road and the 45-miles of carriage roads of Acadia National Park. Don't forget the binoculars for spotting Bald Eagles and seals while you are out exploring Maine's Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Bay Meadow Cottages is so convenient to all of Mount Desert Island's attractions, just a few miles after you cross the Trenton Bridge on the quiet Old Bar Harbor Road, just beyond the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory. We are technically in Bar Harbor and more specifically in the small Village of Salisbury Cove, a hamlet of Bar Harbor and an easy 10 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor.

Innkeeper Penny Frost and a friendly staff are on premise to welcome you, and offer tips on the best things to see and do on Mount Desert Island and recommend Bar Harbor restaurants and Lobster Pounds. A BBQ area with gas grills is available if you would like to cookout, or you can have a fresh steamed Maine lobster delivered to your cottage.
